This error can occur if you have downloaded a file from an untrusted source, like the internet. Windows will block the file from being opened when it is downloaded. This is a security measure Microsoft has put in place to prevent viruses from spreading through MS Office files.
Follow the instructions below to unblock the file.
- When downloading a file, select the option to "Show in folder" or browse to the file in file explorer.
NOTE: If the file is zipped, unzip it and follow the instructions below using the unzipped file.
- Click Properties
- Click Unblock and OK
- Double click the file to open it.
