Mic Doesn't Work on Google Meet

In some instances you may find that your mic is not working in a google meet. Here are some troubleshooting steps that will help resolve this issue.

Verify that Google Meet is set to use the correct microphone.

  1. In the google meet, click the three dots to and click settings.

  2. Under Microphone select the correct microphone and it's not muted in the meet.

Reset Site Permissions for the Microphone

  1. Click the three dots at the top right of the Chrome browser.

  2. Click Settings
  3. Click Security and Privacy on the left, then click Site Settings on the right.

  4. Click Microphone.

  5. Select your microphone.

  6. Scroll down and find https://meet.google.com:443 and delete it using the trash can icon.

  7. Join or create a Google Meet and click Allow on the prompt that appears at the top for the page.

Run the speech troubleshooter.

    1. Open Filewave Kiosk from the icon on your desktop. Copyd2afa06acad5.png
    2. Click Utilities on the left, then click Install next to Windows Troubleshooter on the right.
      If you see Uninstall next to the Windows Troubleshooter, click uninstall, then click install.

    3. Click the Additional troubleshooters hyperlink.

    4. Under Find and fix other problems click Speech, and click Run the troubleshooter.

    5. On the next screen click Cortana can't hear me.

    6. Next you'll be asked to select the microphone you need help with.
    7. Select your microphone and click Next.
    8. You may be asked to apply a fix. Allow it to apply the fix if asked.

    9. If it fixed the problem, you do not have to finish the set up process for Cortana and you can click Skip this step.
