Mic Troubleshooting

In some instances you may find that your mic is not working in a google meet. Here are some troubleshooting steps that will help resolve this issue.

Unmute The Mic in Windows Settings

      1. First try using the laptop function keys to unmute the mic.

Press the Fn and F4 keys simultaneously to mute/unmute the microphone.

NOTE: This is a toggle button so pressing it once will mute/unmute and pressing it again will mute/unmute. The light on the button may or may not light up when it's muted.

If this doesn't help go to step 2.
      2. Double click the Mic Settings icon on the Windows desktop. Copy35c3f7a30a03.png
NOTE:If you're not familiar with Windows, the desktop is where you will see all the icons when you log in to the computer. It's much like the home screen on your phone. You may need to minimize or close all your windows to see the desktop.

      3. In the Recordings tab click Microphone Array.
      4. Click Set Default at the bottom of the window if it's available to be clicked.
      5. Click Properties.
