In the event that you need to contact Technology about a problem regarding your computer, you'll need to know how to access your computer name. There are several ways to view your computer name.
- The easiest way to view your computer name is on the Windows desktop screen. With all windows minimized or closed, you should see green text at the top right of your screen. You should see a Computer Name: or Host Name:.
- If this information is not visible you can go to the search bar at the bottom of your screen and type in name. Then click the View your PC name app that appears. On the About screen, you'll see your computer name next to the Device Name:.
- If you are unable to log into your computer type .\ into the Username box at the login screen. You'll see the computer name next to Sign in to: below the login prompt.
- If your computer will not power on, you may use the serial number or asset tag on the bottom of the laptop.
