Import Lightspeed Classroom Students

Lightspeed also allows you to upload a spreadsheet of student info into an empty classroom in order to roster a classroom that is not connected to a section in PowerSchool.

  1. Download the import template csv file from the following link.
    Lightspeed Classroom Student Import Template.csv

  2. Open it with Microsoft Excel.

  3. Enter or copy and paste your students into it.

  4. Required fields are First Name, Last Name, Email Address and Username.

    NOTE: Please fill out as much information as you have. A sample record is included so you'll know what info each field is asking for. Please delete the sample record before uploading.

  5. After entering all of your students, click the save button and yes on the prompt.

  6. Log into Lightspeed Classroom.

  7. Click on your empty class.

  8. Click Upload CSV.

  9. Click Select File.

  10. Click Downloads on the left and Select the CSV file you added students into, then click Open.

  11. Click Continue on the Change or confirm header selection page.

  12. Click Continue again on the Change or confirm column matches.

  13. Click Import Records

  14. Click Submit
    NOTE: It can take a few minutes for the students to appear in your class. Refresh the classroom page periodically until they appear.
