WELCOME TO THE OPS HELPDESK!!

Connecting Personal Devices to Wifi

OPS employees are allowed to connect your personal phone, tablet or laptop to the OPS wifi network, using their secure Wifi credentials. This ensure these devices can be montiored on our network.

To protect the security, reliability, and integrity of the Owasso Public Schools network, personally owned Internet Of Things (IOT) devices such as digital picture frames, Apple TV, Amazon Echo... are not permitted to connect to district systems. These devices are not managed by the district and may contain malware, lack regular security updates, use insecure configurations, or pose data privacy risks to student and staff information.

Allowing unmanaged personal devices can negatively impact network performance, create compliance concerns with regulations such as FERPA and COPPA, and limit the district’s ability to respond effectively to security incidents.

For these reasons, personal devices are not allowed on the Owasso Public Schools network. This policy ensures a secure, stable, and compliant technology environment for students and staff.
